Designing a precious stone investment platform that looks a million dollars
Overview
Kimby is a platform for fractional investment in diamonds and precious stones. Their founder reached out for creative support in the new brand, UI design system and product prototype for their development team to build out.
Our design thinking
We combined two worlds of luxury goods and crypto-esque investment platforms with this product. We used a pop of electric blue, inspired by a fintech experience, alongside neutral imagery and the smooth type and colour schemes of a luxury brand to overcome the dichotomy between the two. With the UX, we took best practices from e-commerce experiences elsewhere on the web; in this case, a similar UX approach is that of crowdfunding websites.
Finished product
Kimby were extremely happy with the results, as we collaborated with them over several months to get to the development-ready stage. The product is now in development, so watch this space; get in touch if you have a luxury brand you would like to launch or rebrand.
