Overview
Cab:app is a new app created for traditional cabs in London and Ireland to adapt to digital transport.
“It has been a pleasure working on the MVP for Cab:app. The most challenging part of the design was helping them create the first steps of the digitalised version of their service. Nonetheless, it allowed us as designers to create from scratch a new app to help the industry become more in-tune with the digitalisation of the world.”
Our design thinking
Cab:app came to us to create a MVP version of the app. They directly specified light and dark mode versions. Throughout this process, we had to consider the accessibility aspect as the potential audience are not expected to be experienced app users. Additionally, as the app would be used by the driver, the UI needed to be at a large enough pixel size for users to find what they are looking for without causing distractions and lack of attention to the road.
Finished product
Whilst working closely with Cab:app, we ensured that their problem of tackling the need to digitalise the traditional Cab industry was solved. Shoreditch design created a MVP version of the app that allowed the ability to switch between dark and light mode was simultaneous, the app was accessible to both the driver and its passengers and kept to the design system created.
